Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, commended the initiative, saying, “NSDC’s efforts in upskilling students through this centre will have a profound impact. Students should fully utilize the skill development programs offered here in Pune.”

Highlighting the centre’s potential, Deepak Kesarkar emphasized its significance for Pune’s status as the ‘Oxford of the East.’ He stated, “With India’s burgeoning youth population, we are in a prime position to meet global demands for skilled labor.

Our immediate goal is to upskill 100,000 students, contributing significantly to Maharashtra’s and India’s emergence as a leading global skilled service force.”

Chandrakant Patil outlined the broader impact of the initiative, noting plans to expand to other regions including Nagpur, Kolhapur, and Amravati.

“As countries like Germany face a shortage of skilled workers, our trained youth can bridge this gap. This centre in Pune is a critical step toward meeting global employment needs and empowering our youth to realize their aspirations,” he said.

NSDC Vice President Nitin Kapoor expressed gratitude to the Government of Maharashtra for their support in rapidly establishing the centre. He remarked, “Our commitment is to equip Maharashtra’s youth with the skills needed to explore career opportunities on a global scale.”

This collaboration represents a significant step forward in preparing Maharashtra’s workforce for international opportunities. By leveraging NSDC International’s extensive global network and the state’s strong educational infrastructure, the initiative aims to set a new standard in skill development and international employment.

The Government of Maharashtra has pledged to provide the necessary infrastructure, including state-of-the-art classrooms, to support these centres. The facilities will offer training in high-demand sectors such as Hospitality, Beauty & Wellness, Healthcare, and Language Labs.

This strategic focus ensures that Pune’s youth are trained in skills that align with global market needs.

NSDC International will play a key role in connecting Maharashtra’s skilled workforce with international employers, providing them with access to global job markets.

The initiative will also offer international certification for language and domain skills, enhancing the employability and marketability of Maharashtra’s youth on the global stage.
