Outing Turns Tragic as College Student Drowns in Kasarsai Dam

The group of five students had skipped classes to visit the dam. The student who drowned was identified as Sarang Dolse.

Pune: A tragic incident occurred at the Kasarsai Dam where a college student drowned while swimming with friends. Sarang Dolse, a student at MS College in Kalewadi, Pimpri Chinchwad, lost his life after misjudging the water.

The group of five students had skipped classes to visit the dam. Local police and rescue teams were promptly called to the scene, recovering Sarang's body, which has been sent for an autopsy.

According to police, the five students had come to the Kasarsai Dam area for a visit. They decided to swim in the dam's water. Unfortunately, one of the students misjudged the water and drowned, resulting in his death.

The student who drowned was identified as Sarang Dolse. He was a student at MS College in Kalewadi, Pimpri Chinchwad.

Officers from the Shirgaon Paratwadi Police Station arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident. They then called in the rescue team.

During this time, wildlife protector Maval Institution, Apada Mitra Maval, Nilesh Samparao Garade from Shivdurg Mitra Lonavala, Kunal Dabhade, Avishkar Bhide, Sushant Nagine, and Vikas Doddi began rescue efforts to find the students. The rescue team retrieved Sarang's body. It has been sent to the hospital for an autopsy.

Many tourists visit Maval Taluka in Pune for sightseeing. In the past 15 days, there has been an increase in drowning incidents. The administration has advised tourists to be cautious when visiting dam areas.

Recently, the urge to take a reel while enjoying a waterfall claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman from Mumbai. Aanvi Kamdar, who shared travelogues and lifestyle content on the Instagram account "theglocaljournal," met a tragic end.

She fell into a deep valley from a height of 350 feet, resulting in her death. Aanvi's death has deeply shocked her six companions who were trekking with her, and the Kamdar family is devastated by the loss.
