Pune: In a dramatic incident in the Loni Devkar industrial area of Indapur taluka, an overloaded truck was abandoned by its driver under dangerous circumstances.

Fortunately, officials from the Vayuveg Enforcement team of the Baramati Sub-Regional Transport Office (RTO) were conducting vehicle inspections in the vicinity at that time, allowing them to take swift action and prevent a potential accident.

On the morning of the incident, the RTO's Vayuveg Enforcement team was inspecting vehicles along the MIDC road near Loni Devkar. They spotted a truck carrying approximately 20 tons of goods, which was speeding dangerously from Indapur towards Pune.

Suddenly, the truck driver made a reckless U-turn and abandoned the vehicle, leaving it in a hazardous condition.

Recognizing the imminent danger, the Vayuveg Enforcement team managed to bring the truck to the Indapur police station.

Shortly after, the driver arrived at the police station, citing a technical malfunction that had caused the vehicle to stall at Baba Chowk, resulting in a temporary traffic jam.

Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Rishikesh Hange stepped in to assist the police in managing the traffic congestion during this situation.

In accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act, the truck was subjected to penalties due to the driver's reckless behavior and the overloaded condition of the vehicle.

The successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Sub-Regional Transport Officer Rajendra Keskar, with assistance from Motor Vehicle Inspector Gangadhar Mekalwar, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Rishikesh Hange, and drivers Vitthal Gawde, Mahadev Tanpure, and Sandeep Wankhede.

The operation also saw the involvement of police constables Arane, Khade, and Nagargoje, showcasing a coordinated effort to enhance road safety in the area.
