Pune: The revered Palkhi processions of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj are set to arrive in the city on Sunday (June 30).

In preparation for the large influx of devotees, significant changes have been made to the city's traffic management. Major roads will be closed to accommodate the processions and ensure the convenience of the Warkaris and devotees.

To assist drivers and manage traffic efficiently during the Palkhi processions, the Pune Traffic Police have coordinated with Google Maps to provide real-time information on road closures and alternative routes. This information will be crucial on the day of the Palkhi arrival and departure, allowing citizens to navigate the city more easily.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar stated that the use of Google Maps will help disseminate information about traffic changes, closed roads, and alternative routes effectively. The dedicated Google Maps link for this purpose is https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1NudV8Rsb6grJP82jhCKyn3uzeGFSJLI&usp=sharing. Citizens are encouraged to use this link to stay updated on the latest traffic conditions.

The Palkhis will be stationed in the Nana-Bhavani Peth area, and information about traffic changes in this region will also be available on Google Maps.

The processions will continue their journey on Tuesday, July 2, and details about the departure ceremonies will be made available on Google Maps as well.
