Shivraj Sanas

Pune: The state government has announced a toll exemption for devotees and vehicles participating in the Pandharpur Wari pilgrimage. An official government resolution (GR) has been issued regarding this decision.

The toll exemption will be applicable on all toll plazas across the state for Warkaris from today, July 3, until July 21. This announcement was made by Akshay Maharaj Bhosale.

A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was held to discuss the arrangements for the Ashadhi Wari, which includes the procession to Pandharpur, facilities for devotees and Warkaris, toll exemptions for their vehicles, and road repairs along the Wari route.

Following the meeting, Chief Minister Shinde directed various departments to implement the necessary measures, and the corresponding GR was issued.

Devotees across the state are eager to visit Vitthal in Pandharpur. Lakhs of Warkaris travel to Pandharpur with the palanquins of saints Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Tukaram Maharaj. In light of this, the state government has made a significant decision to waive toll fees for Warkaris' vehicles.

On July 17, millions of devotees from all over the state will head towards Pandharpur for Ashadhi Ekadashi. The state government’s decision to waive toll fees for these vehicles will be in effect from July 3 to July 21. This information was provided by Akshay Maharaj Bhosale.
