Paralympic Icon Muralikant Petkar Visits Artificial Limb Centre in Pune

Pune: The Artificial Limb Centre (ALC) in Pune had the honor of hosting Padma Shri Muralikant Petkar, the celebrated Paralympic gold medalist on August 17, 2024.

Petkar, known for his extraordinary achievements and significant contributions to the Paralympic sports community, was warmly received by Brigadier C.N. Satish, Commandant of ALC, along with the entire staff.

During his visit, Petkar toured the facilities, interacting with patients, staff, and a group of schoolchildren who were also visiting the center. His presence resonated deeply with the amputee patients, offering them a powerful example of resilience and determination in the face of physical, mental, and social challenges.

In a moving address, Petkar shared his personal story of triumph over adversity, inspiring both patients and staff and reinforcing an atmosphere of hope and perseverance at the center.

The Artificial Limb Centre in Pune is the premier rehabilitation facility of the Indian Armed Forces, with a legacy spanning nearly 80 years.

The center has successfully rehabilitated thousands of amputee patients, instilling in them the belief that a brighter future is possible. Petkar's journey is a shining example of this belief, serving as a beacon of hope for other patients and their families.
