Pune: In a troubling incident on a Pune-Delhi flight, a dispute over seating led to an assault on a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer.
The altercation occurred early Saturday (August 17) morning when a woman, identified as Surekha Singh, clashed with fellow passengers Anvitika Borse and Aditya Borse over seating arrangements.
CISF constable Priyanka Reddy (26) has filed a complaint with the airport police. The police have registered a case against Surekha Singh (age 44, residing at Kumar Piccadilly Society, Santosh Nagar, Wakad).
The incident occurred on Saturday morning at around 7:45 AM on the Pune-Delhi flight.
According to police reports, Anvitika Borse and Aditya Borse were traveling on the Pune-Delhi flight. Surekha Singh had a disagreement with them over seating arrangements and physically attacked them.
When Priyanka Reddy and her colleague Sonika Pal intervened to mediate, Surekha Singh assaulted both of them. She bit Priyanka's hand, causing injury. The police have filed a case for obstruction of official duty.
Recently, on August 12, a young man was arrested by airport police for attempting to travel by plane using a fake ticket. The incident came to light when a security guard at the airport noticed the irregularity and handed the youth over to the police.
The passenger was identified as Salim Golekhan (age 27, resident of Mohannagar, Chinchwad). A case has also been registered against travel agent Nasruddin Khan (resident of Uttar Pradesh), who issued the ticket.
