PCMC Appoints Chandrakant Indalkar for Legislative Coordination

Shivraj Sanas

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced the appointment of Chandrakant Indalkar, Additional Commissioner, as the nodal officer for legislative coordination.

This move is aimed at streamlining the coordination of routine and legislative matters related to the municipal corporation.

In addition, Prakash Katore, Executive Engineer of the Department of Atomic Energy and Telecommunications, has been appointed as the departmental coordinator.

His role will involve coordinating the submission of information from various municipal departments to the government’s coordination cell. This step is intended to address the challenges faced in information management and to ensure timely and accurate submission of reports.

The Maharashtra Government has set up a Metropolitan Coordination Cell at the Municipal Administration Directorate level to handle collective municipal policies and respond to issues raised by the Supreme Court and High Court. This cell also manages information requests for important meetings.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation handles various issues across different departments, requiring consistent coordination. Frequent changes in department heads and their subordinates have led to difficulties in maintaining effective coordination, resulting in delays and inefficiencies.

To address these challenges, the Municipal Administration Directorate has mandated the appointment of a nodal officer at the municipal level. This officer will oversee legislative coordination and routine operations, ensuring that the municipal corporation meets its obligations in a timely manner.

Chandrakant Indalkar’s appointment as the nodal officer reflects the government’s commitment to improving administrative efficiency. Prakash Katore’s designation as the departmental coordinator further supports this initiative by ensuring that all relevant information is collected and submitted as per the government’s requirements.
