Pimpri: To address the long-standing issue of traffic congestion in areas such as Bhujbal Chowk, Bhumkar Chowk, and the neighborhoods of Punawale and Tathawade, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken decisive action.
The PCMC’s standing committee has granted approval for the construction and repair of several major roads, which will connect vital parts of the city and improve transportation within Ward 25.
PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh shared the details of these approved road works, providing hope for residents who have long struggled with poor road conditions and traffic jams. The road development projects aim to reduce traffic congestion in heavily populated and industrial areas such as Wakad, Punawale, and Tathawade.
The construction will include roads that are designed to improve overall connectivity, alleviate pollution, and provide well-planned parking facilities.
Major Roads to Be Developed:
Kate Vasti to Mumbai-Bangalore Highway: A 30-meter wide, 2-kilometer stretch, connecting key localities to the highway
Koyate Vasti Chowk to Jambegaon: An 18-meter wide, 1.25-kilometer road that will serve a rapidly growing area
Madhuban Hotel to Indira College: A 24-meter wide, 2.5-kilometer road to improve connectivity between important educational and commercial zones
Silver Spoon Hotel to Indira College and Wakad Shiv Roads: All roads in this section will be 18 meters wide and will use concrete for enhanced durability
