Pimpri: During a recent meeting of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh expressed his frustration with officers who were distracted by their mobile phones.

"What is going on? Do you receive more messages than I do? You are behaving like children," Singh reprimanded the officers, who were inattentive during a presentation on climate change.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's Standing Committee and General Assembly were held on August 27. Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale, Vijaykumar Khorate, Chandrakant Indalkar, Chief Health Officer Dr. Laxman Gophane, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, Chief Engineer Shrikant Savane, Sanjay Kulkarni, and all department heads were present.

After the Standing Committee meeting, a private organization's representative began a presentation on climate change.

Some officers, uninterested in the presentation, were busy looking at their mobile phones, which angered Commissioner Singh. He reprimanded the officers, saying, "What is going on? Do you receive more messages than I do? You are behaving like children."

Meanwhile, Commissioner Singh had scheduled the meeting for 1 PM on Tuesday, but he himself arrived half an hour late. The meeting then began with the Standing Committee and General Assembly, followed by the presentation on climate change.

Discussions continued until 7 PM on various topics, including the Sarathi Helpline, review of regional offices, and direct benefit transfer (DBT) in the education department.
