Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Speeding Truck

The truck driver has been identified as Kaviyaras Jai Shankar of Harur, Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu.

Nasrapur: An unidentified pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding truck on Wednesday morning in Varve village limits on the Pune-Satara highway, police said. A case has been registered against the truck driver at Rajgad police station.

The truck driver has been identified as Kaviyaras Jai Shankar of Harur, Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. Ganesh Pandharinath Ranjane (34), a resident of Varve Khurd, has filed a complaint.

On the Pune-Satara highway, around 9 am on Wednesday, t. N. The truck, 93 AD 6590, was heading towards Pune.

The truck hit a 55-50-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the road in front of Neelkamal Hotel. He died in it. No sign of identification was found with the deceased. Constable Sanjay Dhavare is investigating.
