Pune: In a shocking case of hit-and-run, a two-wheeler rider was seriously injured after being dragged by a speeding car for several meters in the Pimple Gurav area.

The incident occurred around 4 PM near the main bus stop and was captured on CCTV, the footage of which has since surfaced online, sending shivers down the spine of those who viewed it.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the car, who appeared to be intoxicated, struck the two-wheeler from behind, causing the rider to get trapped under the front wheel of the vehicle.

Despite this, the driver continued to drag the injured rider along the road for some distance before fleeing the scene.

The injured rider was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital by the authorities, who were alerted immediately after the incident. The rider remains in critical condition, receiving intensive treatment.

Meanwhile, local police have launched a manhunt to track down the driver responsible for this heinous act.

Recently, 56-year-old Vijaya Kumar Nayar, a teacher by profession, was hit by a speeding car near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue Square towards Mahalaxmi Temple on Pimple Saudagar Road.

A 34-year-old Chartered Accountant Sagar Suresh Mantri lost his life on July 9 when a speeding car hit him at the grade separator in Swargate. The absence of CCTV cameras at the grade separator has made it difficult to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.

Swargate police are yet to identify the car driver in this case. Sagar, originally from Ahilyanagar, had settled in Pune for his business.
