Pimpri: On the first day following the release of the Assembly election notification, aspirants from the Pimpri, Chinchwad, Bhosari, and Maval constituencies, including sitting MLAs and prominent leaders from major political parties, have begun preparing for the upcoming election.

A total of 62 candidates across these four constituencies have collected 134 nomination forms. However, no one has filed their candidacy as of yet.

Notable figures who have collected nomination forms include sitting MLA Anna Bansode from the Nationalist Congress Party representing Pimpri, and BJP MLA Mahesh Landge from Bhosari.

Other key contenders are Ajit Gawhane from the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) in Bhosari and Shankar Jagtap, the BJP candidate from Chinchwad. Additionally, Moreswar Bhondwe from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and former MLA Gautam Chabukswar from the same faction have also picked up forms in Pimpri.

Several other notable names have gathered their nomination forms, including former BJP corporator Seema Sawale, Chandrakanta Sonkambale, Devendra Tayde, Raju Bhalerao, Balasaheb Owhal, Manoj Garbade, and Manoj Kamble.

From the Maval constituency, Bapu Bhegde and Krishna Dabhade from the NCP have also collected forms, signaling a competitive election race.

The Election Commission announced the Assembly election schedule on October 15, with the official notification being published on October 22.

The process for submitting nomination forms has now commenced and will continue daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the respective Returning Officer's offices.

There are strict regulations regarding the submission process, with only three vehicles allowed within 100 meters of the Returning Officer's office and a limit of five people, including the candidate, permitted to enter during the nomination filing.

Public rallies, marches, and the use of musical instruments have been strictly prohibited in the vicinity of the submission area.
