Pune: In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune on Thursday (September 26), the city's traffic police have announced several changes to traffic flow, with key diversions set to be implemented starting from 3 PM.

From 3 PM onwards, no vehicles will be allowed on the stretch between the Swatantryaveer Savarkar statue and Sarasbaug Chowk.

  • Roads around the Swargate area, including Lal Bahadur Shastri Road and Gopal Krishna Gokhale Road (Fergusson Road), will also see traffic restrictions, with designated no-parking zones to ensure smooth passage for the Prime Minister's convoy.

Alternate Routes and Diversions:

  • Vehicles traveling on Sinhagad Road can reroute by turning right at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Chowk through Mitramandal Chowk, continuing via Volga Chowk to reach their destination. Alternatively, drivers can take a left at Mitramandal Chowk towards the Sinhagad Road junction to proceed.

  • The stretch from Keshavrao Jedhe Chowk to Satara Road will be closed. Vehicles coming from Lokmanya Tilak Road and Chhatrapati Shivaji Road can take alternate routes through Keshavrao Jedhe Chowk, turning left towards Dhole Patil Chowk (Seven Loves Chowk), and turning right at the Wakhar Mahamandal-Market Yard junction to proceed to Satara Road.

  • Access between Seven Loves Chowk and Keshavrao Jedhe Chowk will also be restricted. Drivers can reroute via a left turn from Seven Loves Chowk to Wakhar Mahamandal, turning right towards Satara Road.

  • The stretch from Volga Chowk to Jedhe Chowk will be inaccessible. Motorists should take a left from Volga Chowk and head towards Swatantryaveer Savarkar Chowk to reach their destination.

  • Roads between Kamgar Statue and Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk will be closed on both sides, with alternate access through Kamgar Statue to Shaheer Amar Shaikh Chowk.

Parking Arrangements:

Special parking zones have been established to accommodate the anticipated influx of vehicles.

  • Designated parking spots include Patil Plaza, New English School Tilak Road, DP Road near Mhatre Bridge, New English School Ramanbaug, Harjeevan Hospital Savarkar Chowk, PMP Ground Poona Chowk, Neelayam Talkies, Vimalabai Garware School, Abasaheb Garware College, Kataria High School, Minerva Parking Mandai, and Hamalwada Parking.
