PM Modi's Varanasi office listed for sale on OLX for Rs 7 crore

The accused had taken a photo of Modi's "Jansampark Kaaryalay (public relations office)" and put it up for sale on OLX, officials said.

Four people were arrested for posting an online advertisement for putting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Varanasi office for "sale", police said on Friday.

The accused had taken a photo of Modi's "Jansampark Kaaryalay (public relations office)" and put it up for sale on OLX, officials said.

The office is situated in Jawahar Nagar and falls within the bounds of the Bhelupur Police Station, said Varanasi Senior Police Superintendent (SSP) Amit Pathak.

Pathak told HT, “Yesterday, it came to our notice that the prime minister’s office here has been put up on sale on OLX website. An FIR was immediately lodged at the Bhelupur police station, and the matter is being investigated.”

Four people who were involved in the case have been taken into custody. The person who took the photo is also amongst them. Further investigation is taking place at the Bhelupur police station under which the case is registered.
