Pune: A senior health inspector from Pune Municipal Corporation’s Sinhagad Road Ward Office has been accused of harassment after allegedly making inappropriate advances toward a female employee.

The accused, Chandrakant Ganpat Lad, aged 55, allegedly invited the woman to a closed cabin for a personal conversation under the pretext of offering job-related favors.

The incident came to light after the 30-year-old complainant filed a police report at the Sinhagad Road Police Station.

According to the complaint, Lad approached the woman while she was in the health department section of the regional office on Tuesday (October 1) morning. Lad allegedly told her, "I like you a lot, come with me to a closed cabin alone, and let's talk privately."

When the woman rejected his advances, Lad reportedly persisted, stating that he had provided her with benefits in her job, including granting leaves when requested, and demanded that she "do him a favor" by joining him in the cabin. The woman, uncomfortable with his behavior, promptly reported the matter to the authorities.

The Sinhagad Road Police have registered a case against Chandrakant Lad under charges of harassment, and Sub-Inspector Suresh Jaibhay is leading the investigation.

In another recent incident, 52-year-old highschool administrator, from a technical high school in Pune's Koregaon Park area, allegedly demanded sexual favors from a female employee.

The accused, identified as Prashant Pushti (52), is now facing legal action after a formal complaint was lodged by the victim.

The 51-year-old complainant, a staff member at the high school, approached the Koregaon Park Police Station, where she reported that Pushti had made inappropriate remarks and requested sexual favors.
