Pune: The Industrial Training Institute (ITI), run by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), will now be renovated.

While paying attention to the education of the students, the civic administration has also given priority to the necessary facilities and renovation works in the concerned institution.

All the works will be completed by March. So there are signs that the organization will soon get a boost. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Industrial Training Institute is located in Shukrawar Peth.

There was a lot of misery there. The then Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane had inspected the institute and instructed to carry out necessary works there.

They had sanctioned some funds and got the repair work done. On the one hand, the dream of creating ITIs on the lines of Orissa was being shown, on the other hand, the municipal administration was again neglecting to improve.

Especially after Dhakane's transfer, there was a lot of confusion about the work involved. Taking note of this question, Sakal highlighted it. After that, the administration started moving towards the necessary works in the institute. The work started in September after the technical process of bidding was completed by the PMC's building department.

The workshop includes construction of good quality platforms to store heavy machinery, replacement of new water tanks, sewer lines, construction of rain channels,

necessary works to prevent leakage from the roof during monsoon, installation of floors, repair of bad walls, painting of the building, furniture, furniture and arches near the entrance of the institute. The works have been taken up since September.

Accordingly, the municipal building department is focusing on early completion of facilities and renovation works in the institute.

Features of work
- Cost of various types of work - Rs 2.90 crore
- Currently, 25% of the work is complete, trying to speed up the work.
- Bmc aims to complete works by March 2025
- Facilities will change the face of the organization
- Efforts are also on to develop the institute along with enhancing the quality of students.

The PMC's building department has started facilities and renovation works at the institute. Once the work is completed, it will help students to learn in a better environment, said Pramod Mule, Principal in-charge, Industrial Training Institute, Pune Municipal Corporation

The PMC has taken up the task of providing facilities only in the month of September. The work will be completed in five to six months. Work is being expedited in this regard, said Yuvraj Deshmukh, Chief Engineer, Building Department, Pune Municipal Corporation
