Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has expanded its tourism bus service by adding the historic Bhima Koregaon Memorial (Victory Pillar) to its itinerary.
Bus No. 6, which already includes stops at religious and historical sites like Wadbolhai Temple, Tulapur Triveni Sangam, and the Ranjangaon Ganpati Temple, will now also take passengers to the Bhima Koregaon Victory Pillar, a significant memorial in the region.
The tourism bus service was launched to cater to the growing number of employees from offices, IT companies, and educational institutions who take advantage of their weekends and holidays to explore Pune’s historical and religious landmarks.
PMPML has introduced air-conditioned e-buses to provide a comfortable and affordable travel option, especially for Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, and on-demand trips during other days.
Tourism Bus No. 6 begins its journey at Pune Station at 9 AM, making its first stop at the Wagheshwar Temple in Wagholi. It then continues to other notable stops including Wadbolhai Temple, the Tulapur Triveni Sangam, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Memorial in Wadhu Budruk, Ranjangaon Ganpati Temple, and the Bhima Koregaon Victory Pillar, before returning to Pune Station in the evening.
The service has been met with positive reception as it offers an efficient way to visit multiple significant sites in one day.
PMPML had earlier announced the launch of a new tourist bus service starting from August 5, that covers popular tourist destinations Shivsrushti in Narhe and Swaminarayan Temple in Ambegaon.
