Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced that its permanent employees will receive a special bonus on the occasion of Diwali.

The decision was taken during the authority's meeting on September 24, 2024, and will benefit employees in Group C and Group D categories.

According to the approved resolution, each eligible employee will receive a bonus of ₹28,875 for the financial year 2023-2024. This bonus is intended to bring festive cheer to the PMRDA staff, ensuring that their Diwali celebrations are more joyful this year.

The administrative order was officially issued by Deputy Commissioner Sunil Pandhare, following the approval of the PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase.

The move reflects the authority’s acknowledgment of its staff's dedication and is expected to enhance employee morale during the festive season.

This special bonus will be granted to permanent employees working under PMRDA’s establishment and highlights the authority's commitment to rewarding its workforce. The decision has been welcomed by the staff, who will now receive the benefits in time for Diwali.

Around 18,000 employees and officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) are also set to enjoy a sweeter Diwali this year with the approval of an 8.33% bonus and a special grant of ₹23,000. The funds will be deposited directly into their bank accounts ahead of the Diwali celebrations.

Each year, the corporation allocates funds to distribute bonuses and special grants to its officials, employees, municipal teachers, and non-teaching staff in celebration of Diwali. This year, approximately ₹125 crore has been earmarked in the budget for this purpose.
