Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated the lottery process for the housing projects in Sectors 12, 30, and 32.

Within just four days, the authority has received a strong response, with 700 applications submitted by residents for the available houses. PMRDA officials anticipate that the number of applications will continue to rise in the coming days.

The second phase of construction has commenced in Sector 12, while approximately 650 units from the first phase remain unoccupied. Similarly, around 700 units are vacant in Sectors 30 and 32. To address this, the PMRDA launched the lottery process on the auspicious occasion of Dasara to allocate these homes.

Concerns were previously raised about the pricing and quality standards of these housing units. Despite these concerns, many citizens in Pimpri-Chinchwad who are in need of housing have shown interest by registering for the lottery.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is managing the lottery process, and PMRDA officials are optimistic that applicants will complete the required documentation and deposit payments soon.

The registration numbers saw a dip on October 12 and 13 due to public holidays. However, the following two days witnessed an increase, with applications reaching 700 as of Tuesday (October 15).

PMRDA has been actively monitoring the process to ensure that applicants face no difficulties, providing regular updates on registration progress. The smooth handling of the process and the positive response from residents have offered relief to the officials overseeing the program.

In total, 1,337 homes are available through this lottery, and the registration process will remain open until November 12, allowing more citizens to apply.
