Pune: In anticipation of President of India Droupadi Murmu's visit to Pune, strict measures are being enforced to ensure security and maintain law and order.

District Collector Dr. Suhas Divase has ordered the closure of several schools in the Lavale and Sus (Taluka Mulshi) areas near Symbiosis University. These schools will remain closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 3, as a precautionary measure.

The affected schools include Periwinkle English Medium School, Dolphin English Medium School, Vidya Valley School, Srinivas Pre-School, Aditya Pre-School, Podar Jumbo Kids, Tree House Secondary School, Orchid International School, the Zilla Parishad School in Susgaon, and several others in the region.

Additionally, to further secure the area, Dr. Divase has also issued a prohibition on private aerial activities in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and surrounding rural areas.

This ban, effective from early morning until midnight on September 3, includes activities such as paragliding, hot air balloon safaris, drone operations, and microlight airplane flights. Violators of this order will face legal action under the Indian Penal Code.

These stringent measures have been put in place to ensure the President's visit proceeds without incident, safeguarding both the public and the dignitaries involved.

President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Maharashtra was earlier scheduled from July 28 to 30, 2024. It was postponed due to heavy rainfall in Mulshi area and the decision was communicated on July 26, 2024.

Subsequently, the Symbiosis International University had also postponed the 21st Convocation Ceremony due to severe weather conditions and President Murmu's visit cancellation.
