Private Bus Operators Seek Immediate Action on Parking Space Allocation

Locations have been suggested, but no actual space has been allocated. Bus operators have urged PMC to make prompt decision on this matter.

Pune: For the past thirty years, there has been a persistent demand for the provision of space for private buses for pick-up, drop-off points, and parking in the city.

This request has been formally presented to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner in person and through letters. However, no concrete decision has been made to date.

Locations have been suggested, but no actual space has been allocated. Maharashtra State Owner and Passenger Transport Association President Baba Shinde has urged the PMC to make a prompt decision on this matter.

A proposal to create a transport hub at all toll plaza locations had been discussed in several meetings, but no decision was finalized. Similarly, the PMC had communicated potential parking locations in writing, and discussions were held about providing necessary facilities at these spots.

The association was willing to pay rent and had requested an annual lease agreement for space, but this has also not been considered.

Baba Shinde has appealed to PMC Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale to convene a joint meeting and make a decisive resolution on this issue.
