Pune: In preparation for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections, mandatory training sessions for officials and employees from each assembly constituency in Pune have started.

The district administration has made it clear that attendance at these sessions is compulsory, and employees who fail to attend will receive notices and may face disciplinary action, Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Divase announced.

On Thursday, Dr. Divase visited the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium to oversee the initial training session organized for officials and employees from the Kothrud Assembly constituency. The session was also attended by Election Officer Sunil Gade and Assistant Election Officer Anjali Kulkarni.

At the event, Dr. Divase highlighted the need for careful planning to ensure the availability of essential facilities at polling centers, as directed by the Election Commission.

He emphasized that such preparations should make the voting experience easier and more accessible for all voters. Dr. Divase further noted the crucial role of officials and employees assigned to polling centers, stating that they should have a clear understanding of the voting procedures to ensure a secure and efficient process.

He underscored that strict adherence to regulations and careful preparation are essential for a smooth and effective election day.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming elections, a Single Window Cell has been established at the Thergaon office of the Chinchwad Assembly Constituency, announced Election Officer Anil Pawar.

This cell, located at the G Regional Office on the ground floor, will streamline the process for candidates seeking permissions for various election-related activities.
