Pune: A biker has been booked by the Wanawadi police for allegedly behaving indecently with a female doctor in the Cantonment area. The incident occurred at Golibar Maidan Chowk.
The accused has been identified as Vivek Anil Shelar (30), a resident of Shantinagar, Wanawadi. A complaint in this regard was filed by the female doctor at the Wanawadi police station.
The complainant, a doctor, was riding her scooter through Golibar Maidan Chowk when Shelar approached from the opposite direction at high speed on his motorcycle and collided with her.
When the doctor confronted him, Shelar verbally abused her and behaved indecently. He allegedly scuffled with her and threatened to kill her.
A case has been registered against Shelar for molestation and issuing death threats. Police Sub-Inspector Pawar is investigating the matter.
Pimpri Police Crack Down on Rohit Dhanve Gang Under MCOCA
In a significant crackdown, Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has taken action under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the Rohit Dhanve gang, notorious for spreading terror through robbery and extortion in the Nehrunagar and Khandewasti areas.
The gang, led by Rohit Pravin Dhanve (21) and including Sagar Ashok Pandit (25) and Dilip alias Paji alias Sardar Indrajit Chauhan, was involved in a recent violent incident at a scrap center in Khandewasti, where they severely injured shopkeeper Vinod Vishwakarma and forcibly took ₹22,000.
The gang's activities have instilled fear in the local community, deterring victims from reporting crimes. The ongoing investigation is being conducted under the supervision of senior police officials, with ACP Dr. Hire currently leading the probe.
