Pune District: 87 Lakh Voters, 21 Constituencies, and Over 5,000 Polling Booths

Pune: A total of 87 lakh voters are registered across 21 constituencies in Pune district for the upcoming Assembly elections. The district's voter composition includes 4,537,692 male voters, 4,218,940 female voters, and 794 transgender voters.

In Pune city alone, the voter count is significant across several major constituencies. Wadgaon Sheri has 497,116 voters with 437 polling booths, while Hadapsar, one of the largest constituencies, records 619,694 voters with 525 polling booths.

Other notable constituencies include Shivajinagar with 291,006 voters and 280 polling stations, Kothrud with 436,472 voters and 387 booths, and Kasba Peth with 282,697 voters and 268 booths.

In the Pimpri-Chinchwad area, Chinchwad leads with 655,106 voters and 561 polling booths, followed by Bhosari with 600,848 voters and 483 polling booths. Pimpri has 387,868 voters and 398 polling booths.

In the rural regions, constituencies like Shirur and Purandar have a considerable number of voters, with Shirur registering 459,640 voters across 457 polling booths and Purandar with 458,842 voters and 413 booths. Other constituencies such as Junnar and Ambegaon have relatively smaller voter populations, with 323,922 and 312,311 voters, respectively.

The distribution of polling stations is designed to facilitate efficient voting across all constituencies. Bhor Velha Mulshi has the highest number of polling booths, 564 in total, to accommodate its 426,707 voters. The Maval constituency follows with 402 polling booths for its 383,328 voters.

As the election date approaches, preparations are underway to ensure that the voting process is smooth across all constituencies in the district.
