Pune Faces Over 24 Tree Falls in 24 Hours Due to Gusty Winds

The affected areas include Khadakwasla, Dhayari, Aundh, Kothrud, Warje, Shivajinagar, Katraj, Balewadi, and Koregaon Park.

Pune: In the past 24 hours, Pune has witnessed over 24 incidents of tree falls due to heavy rains and gusty winds.

These incidents, recorded between 10 AM on Tuesday and 10 AM on Wednesday, have caused significant damage to vehicles and disrupted traffic in various parts of the city. The Fire Brigade Department has been actively clearing the fallen trees to restore normalcy.

The affected areas include Khadakwasla, Dhayari, Aundh, Kothrud, Warje, Shivajinagar, Katraj, Balewadi, and Koregaon Park. The heavy rains and strong winds have led to multiple tree branches falling on roads and vehicles, causing major disruptions.

The tree falls were reported in areas including Anant Park (Aundh), Navnath Mitra Mandal (Erandwane), Thakur Bakery (Maharshi Nagar), near Mhatre Bridge (Navipeth), Mahammadwadi Road (Wanawadi), Subhashnagar (Shukrawar Peth), Deendayal Hospital (FC Road), Jambhulwadi Road, Hole Vasti (Undri),

Fatimanagar, Prathamesh Park (Balewadi), Dahanukar Colony (Kothrud), near Vanaz Company (Kothrud), Mangaldas Road, Khadakmal Ali, Queens Garden, Meenatai Thackeray Colony (Gultekdi), Vimannagar, Kals Gaothan, Deenanath Hospital (Erandwane), Bajirao Road, Utsav Hotel (Citypride), ITI Road (Aundh), and Happy Colony (Kothrud).

District administration has issued an alert on Wednesday (July 24) evening stating that the plains in Satara and Pune district will continue getting medium intensity rainfall for next 24 hours with gusty winds.
