Pune: Two prominent social organizations from Pune, Kam Foundation and Kranti, have been honored with the prestigious Bridgestone Mobility Social Impact Awards (MSIA).

These awards, considered one of the country's highest honors, recognize the exceptional contributions of these organizations in uplifting vulnerable sections of society through sustainable employment and empowerment initiatives.

The Bridgestone Mobility Social Impact Award, presented by Bridgestone India, is awarded to organizations that focus on solving critical societal challenges and fostering social development.

This year marks the fourth edition of the awards, and they aim to acknowledge the significant impact social organizations have on improving the living conditions of underprivileged communities.

Kam Foundation, one of the winners, received the award for their innovative project "Sustainable Employment in Clean Environments" under the category "Employment Opportunities for Vulnerable Sections.

" This project has directly impacted 50 sanitation workers by improving their working conditions, providing access to safety equipment, medical benefits, and professional training, and raising their monthly income from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 20,000.

These efforts have also enhanced the overall quality of life for 100 family members reliant on these workers. The foundation's initiative to uplift sanitation workers has been lauded for bringing dignity and economic stability to a previously marginalized group.

The runner-up, Kranti, based in Shirur, Pune, was recognized for its project "Empowerment of Marginalized Women and Girls." Kranti has been instrumental in providing legal and emotional support to over 2,460 women and girls who have suffered from gender-based violence and caste discrimination.

The organization offers comprehensive support, including legal aid, counseling, court representation, and educational opportunities for affected women and their children. Their work has directly benefited nearly 7,700 individuals.

Our goal is to ensure their safety, dignity, and financial independence through sustainable employment opportunities. We are deeply honored by Bridgestone's recognition of our efforts."
