Pune: In a dramatic incident at Guruwar Peth, Pune, a finance company manager and a Tehsildar were allegedly threatened and physically assaulted while attempting to take possession of a mortgaged flat. The flat owner had defaulted on a home loan, leading to the initiation of repossession proceedings.

The incident occurred on August 23 when Gaurav Gautam Dhanve, branch manager at Authum Investment and Infrastructure Ltd., accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Shankar Thube and local police, visited Gurukrupa Apartment to take possession of the property.

The repossession was ordered after the borrower, Prasad Lagad, defaulted on loan payments, leaving an outstanding debt of ₹83.64 lakh.

While a locksmith was preparing a duplicate key for the locked house, a group of 13 to 15 individuals arrived and began shouting, opposing the preparation of the key.

The secretary of the society, along with the group, verbally abused the complainant and his associates, accusing them of conducting illegal activities without the society's permission.

They threatened not to let them go. Following the instigation of the secretary, the group rushed towards the complainant and his team, forcing the police to intervene and separate them.

Despite this, the crowd continued to hurl abuses and threatened them to leave. The society's secretary threatened to file charges for housebreaking and attempted to physically assault them.

With the help of the police, Naib Tehsildar Shankar Thube and the complainant left the premises and proceeded to Khadak Police Station to file a complaint. The police have registered a case, and Police Havaldar Nale is investigating the matter.
