Pune: Over 3,000 police personnel have been deployed at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) warehouse in Koregaon Park, where the counting of votes for eight assembly constituencies is being conducted.

To ensure smooth proceedings and prevent any untoward incidents, extensive security measures have been put in place by Pune Police.

The arrangements extend beyond the counting center to include sensitive locations such as the residences of candidates, political party offices, and other critical areas.

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been enforced within a 200-meter radius of the counting center, barring public gatherings.

Security Deployment Details

Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar provided an overview of the comprehensive arrangements, which include:

  • Four Additional Police Commissioners

  • Eleven Deputy Police Commissioners

  • Nineteen Assistant Police Commissioners

  • 350 police officers

  • 2,500 police personnel

  • Twelve Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies

  • Two State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) companies

Traffic Management

To accommodate the heightened security, traffic in Koregaon Park has been diverted and regulated:

  • No Parking Zones: South Main Road, from Lane No. 5 Junction (east) to Lane No. 2 Junction (west), and 200 meters around Lane Nos. 3 and 4.

  • Road Closures: The stretch of South Main Road from Don Bosco Youth Center will remain shut, while vehicles from St. Mira’s College, Atur Park Society, and Lane Nos. 5, 6, and 7 are restricted from entering South Main Road.
