Pune: The law and order situation in Maharashtra has become increasingly critical, with a notable rise in crime in Pune, as indicated by central data.

Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament (MP) from Baramati Loksabha Constituency, voiced these concerns, criticizing the state government's lack of attention to the issue.

Sule made these remarks while attending the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Sohala in Baramati. Addressing the media, she highlighted the alarming rise in criminal activities in Pune, stating, "The law and order situation in the state is serious, and crime in Pune is consistently increasing. This is based on central data, not my opinion."

Regarding the recent exoneration of Ravindra Waikar from corruption charges, Sule commented on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s approach. "BJP leaders first accuse opponents of corruption, then induct them into their party, eventually making them ministers, MLAs, or MPs. BJP has become a gang of corrupt individuals," she asserted.

Sule also called for transparency, challenging Devendra Fadnavis to clarify the allegations against Waikar. "A transparent white paper should be published to reveal who is truly corrupt. This is not limited to Maharashtra; it's a nationwide issue where central agencies investigate, cleanse the accused, and then induct them into the party," she added.

Supriya Sule has written a letter to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar regarding the allocation of district planning funds. She explained, "As the Guardian Minister of Pune, I have written to Ajit Pawar because Amol Kolhe and I are not receiving the necessary funds for public projects. We are elected representatives seeking funds for the people’s development, not for our credit. We have a right to five percent of the funds for our work."

Change in Maharashtra Government Expected

Sule also hinted at a possible change in the Maharashtra government by October, citing issues like inflation, unemployment, corruption, and inconsistent policies as major concerns that need addressing.
