Pune Police Push for Fast-Track Handling of Porsche Accident Case

Amitesh Kumar stated that police will soon formally request court to handle these cases in fast-track manner to ensure swift justice.

Pune: The Pune Police Commissioner, Amitesh Kumar, has announced plans to request that the court expedite the trials related to the high-profile Porsche accident in Kalyaninagar through a fast-track court.

The accident, which has drawn significant public attention, involves multiple charges, including tampering with evidence.

In the Porsche accident case, three charges have been filed at the Yerawada police station: the original accident case, tampering with blood samples of a minor, and destroying evidence.

Additionally, there are two more charges related to pressuring the driver to give a false statement and detaining him. Recently, a 900-page charge sheet was filed against seven accused for tampering with the blood samples of the minor Porsche driver and destroying evidence.

This charge sheet, presented by Pune Police's Crime Branch, includes statements from fifty witnesses, CCTV footage, mobile phone analysis of the accused, and a report from the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory. Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized on Thursday (August 1) that a request will soon be made to expedite these cases in a fast-track court.

Commissioner Kumar stated that all significant evidence has been presented in the charge sheet and that the police will soon formally request the court to handle these cases in a fast-track manner to ensure swift justice.

Pune Police Crime Branch in its 900-page charge sheet filed in court presented significant evidence including testimonies from 50 witnesses, CCTV footage, analysis of the accused's mobile phones, the entire sequence of events involving the blood sample tampering, the crash impact assessment report of the Porsche car, and a report from the regional forensic science laboratory.
