Pune: Twenty-Two Hundred Voters Will Vote From Home

There are about 87.57 lakh voters in Pune. There are 121,827 people over the age of 85; There are 88,526 differently-abled voters.

Pune: After the Lok Sabha elections, the administration has now made it easier for senior and differently-abled voters to vote from home even in assembly elections.

As many as 2,245 senior citizens and differently-abled voters from 21 constituencies in Pune have opted to vote from home, with the highest number being from Ambegaon taluka.

There are about 87.57 lakh voters in Pune. There are 121,827 people over the age of 85; There are 88,526 differently-abled voters.

Among the differently-abled, 11,864 are in Chinchwad and the lowest number of 1,603 differently-abled voters are in Maval, while Kothrud constituency has the highest number of voters at 9,959 and Bhosari has the lowest number of voters at 3,335.

Voters with disabilities and above 85 years of age have also filed the form of '12D' with the authorities of the respective constituencies.

Senior voters over the age of 85, including those with disabilities who are physically unable to move, have the opportunity to vote from home. Accordingly, applications have been filled under Section 12D from differently-abled voters, including the elderly concerned.

300 differently-abled choose home option
To vote from home, you had to fill out the form '12D'. Accordingly, the polling station-level officials went door-to-door to register these voters by filling the '12D' form.

The number of voters above 85 years of age is 1,925 and the number of persons with disabilities is 329. The highest number of 49 differently-abled voters from Baramati constituency and the highest number of 200 senior voters from Ambegaon taluka have opted to vote from home.

A total of 2,326 voters in the district had applied for the facility. Of those, 2,245 voters have been eligible, while ballots will be printed once the picture becomes clear.

After that, the polling teams will go to the homes of the concerned voters and complete the voting process. The district election branch said the process will be completed a day before the actual polling.
