Pune: A case has been registered against two individuals, including a retired executive chairman of Pune Vidyarthi Griha, for fabricating a council meeting record and submitting false amendments regarding appointments to the organization’s governance structure.

The incident, which unfolded at the Charity Commissioner’s office in Pune, has brought allegations of fraud against the two accused.

The accused individuals, Ramchandra Laxman Shete (74), a resident of Bibvewadi, and Varun Sanjay Diwadkar (32), a resident of Narayan Peth, have been charged after a complaint was filed by Rajendra Vitthal Borhade from Ghatkopar, Mumbai.

The complaint accuses the two of staging a fictitious meeting of the council, allegedly held at Talegaon Anjaneri in Nashik, and using fabricated minutes from this meeting to file fraudulent appointment changes.

According to police reports, Shete, the former executive chairman of the Pune Vidyarthi Griha institution, claimed that the meeting occurred in Nashik, despite it never taking place.

Subsequently, Varun Diwadkar filed 15 fraudulent applications for appointments and two amendment requests related to the organization's rules at the Charity Commissioner’s office, with the assistance of Advocate D.D. Shah and Vishal Kumbharkar.

The aim of these false applications was to gain unlawful control over the Pune Vidyarthi Griha and secure financial benefits.

This fraudulent activity was uncovered on December 7, 2023, prompting the Vishrambaug Police Station to take action. Police sub-inspector Fadtare is leading the investigation.
