Purandar Airport: 99% technical hurdles resolved, claims Murlidhar Mohol

Mohol plans to collaborate with six Pune district MPs for development projects. Efforts are underway to acquire 35 acres for Pune Airport expansion

Pune: The Purandar Airport project has received crucial clearances from the Ministry of Defence and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), according to Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol. Technical hurdles regarding the designated site '1A' are 99 per cent resolved, and the issue of land acquisition will be handled through the state government.

Mohol, who recently assumed ministerial office, visited Pune and was welcomed by the Pune Working Journalists Union. During a press conference, he stated, "For the first time in forty years, an elected MP from Pune has directly been given a ministerial position. This has certainly raised the expectations of the people of Pune. With this responsibility, we aim to make Pune the best city, considering the next 50 years."

He emphasized the importance of working collectively for Pune's development. Minister Mohol also said, "Discussions are ongoing about granting Cooperative University status for Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM). Implementing this concept is considered important."

Mohol also highlighted the necessity of significant work in Maharashtra's cooperative sector due to its deep-rooted presence. The national cooperative policy is in its final stages and will be announced soon, he said.

Mohol stated that he plans to collaborate with all six MPs from Pune district for development projects. Efforts are underway to acquire 35 acres of land for Pune Airport expansion.

A unit of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be deployed for the new terminal at Pune Airport in the coming days. We are committed to completing all development projects at Pune Airport. Besides we also have plans to review and expand all airports in Maharashtra, Mohol said while pledging to be 100 per cent available to the residents of Pune.
