Pune: The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced that technical issues with its Pothole Complaint Redressal System (PCRS) app have been resolved, enabling citizens to report potholes on major district and state highways. The department has assured that reported potholes will be filled within three days.

Citizens need to download the PCRS app from the Google Play Store. The PWD, in collaboration with the Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Center (MRSAC), has mapped and integrated more than 118,000 kilometers of roads under its jurisdiction into the app.

Complainants only need to upload two photos of the potholes on the highway with GPS location enabled. The junior engineer, deputy executive engineer, and executive engineer of the relevant department will then receive the complaint through the app on their mobile devices.

The complainant will also receive an SMS notification. The PWD has stated that the potholes will be filled within three days, and the complainant will be informed with photos as proof of the completed work.

To use the app, citizens must download the PCRS app from the mobile app store and keep the GPS service enabled. After completing the login process, the complainant will need to upload two photos and enter the location details.

The app will verify whether the complaint pertains to a PWD road, and the complainant will receive a complaint number and an SMS confirmation.

The PWD has stated that junior engineers, deputy engineers, and executive engineers in the respective regional departments will be required to fill the potholes within three days. If the complaint is not resolved within 30 days, a review will be conducted, and action will be taken against the responsible officers.
