Railways: Trial Halts at Puntamba Station for Pune-Amravati and Maharashtra Express

Neelam Karale

Pune: The railway administration has introduced halts for two important trains at Puntamba station in order to enhance passenger convenience.

This move, taken on a six-month experimental basis, aims to benefit local passengers who rely on rail connectivity for travel between key cities in Maharashtra.

The two trains for which the halts have been introduced are the Pune-Amravati-Pune Express and the Kolhapur-Gondia-Kolhapur Maharashtra Express. These halts are expected to make it easier for passengers traveling to or from Puntamba to access these major routes.

The Pune-Amravati Express will now stop at Puntamba station at 3:38 PM every day, where it will halt for one minute before resuming its journey. The return service, Amravati-Pune Express, will arrive at Puntamba at 6:34 AM and depart at 6:35 AM.

Similarly, the Kolhapur-Gondia Maharashtra Express will halt at Puntamba station at 2:39 AM and will continue its journey after a one-minute stop at 2:40 AM. The return leg, Gondia-Kolhapur Maharashtra Express, will stop at Puntamba at 10:14 PM, departing at 10:15 PM.

This arrangement has been put in place starting October 11, and the railway administration will review its effectiveness at the end of the six-month trial period.

The addition of these halts is expected to offer greater convenience to passengers and improve connectivity in the region.

Recently, Indian Railways introduced additional stops for two major express trains at Kirloskarwadi and Sangli.

The Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Goa Express and the Yeshvantpur-Chandigarh Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express will now halt at these stations, benefiting local travelers who have long requested these stops.
