Raj Thackeray Inspects Flood-Affected Ekta Nagari; Promises Rehabilitation

Pune: Raj Thackeray, President of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), visited the flood-affected Ekta Nagari area on Sunday (August 4).

He announced that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has committed to granting additional FSI (Floor Space Index) for the rehabilitation of buildings in the area.

Thackeray also highlighted that unauthorized encroachments in the Mula-Mutha riverbed have been removed to prevent further flooding.

Raj Thackeray had assured the residents that he would return with solutions to their problems. Keeping his promise, Thackeray interacted with the residents today and provided updates.

Financial assistance of ten lakh rupees has been provided to the families of the two youths who died from electrocution in the floodwaters in the Deccan area. Additionally, arrangements are being made to provide a government job to the brother of one of the deceased youths.

Thackeray also emphasized the need to form a committee comprising experts from the Pune Municipal Corporation and the irrigation department to address flood control and understand local issues.

He suggested that insurance companies should compensate the residents for the damage to their two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Thackeray was accompanied by MNS leaders Shivaji Mate, Ganesh Satpute, and other officials and workers.

Meanwhile, all necessary mechanisms have been put in place for the flood-affected area. A special squad from the Pune Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade, PMRDA Fire Brigade, and the army has been deployed in the area.
