Pune: In a gruesome incident in Ramtekdi, Pune, two men have been arrested for murdering their friend, Farhan Abdul Razzak Shaikh (33), and attempting to destroy evidence by placing his body on the railway tracks.

The accused, Siddheshwar Dilip Chavan and Bhaiyya alias Prasad Vijay Kamble, were angered by Farhan's involvement in an extortion case against Siddheshwar.

According to the police, the complainant's brother, Farhan, was friends with Siddheshwar Chavan and Bhaiyya Kamble. About a year ago, an extortion case was filed against Siddheshwar, for which he blamed Farhan.

Siddheshwar was imprisoned but was released on bail two months ago. Upon release, he threatened to kill Farhan, who reported the threat to his brother Farid.

On Saturday, July 20, around midnight, Chavan and Kamble lured Farhan to the edge of the railway track in Ramtekdi under the pretense of drinking.

There, they struck Farhan on the head with a rod and threw him onto the railway tracks. Farhan, severely injured, died, and his body was dismembered by a passing train.

The accused then surrendered at the Wanawadi Police Station, which informed the Hadapsar Police about the incident.

Initial Evasion by the Accused

Initially, the accused Siddheshwar told the police that an argument occurred near the railway tracks in Ramtekdi and that Farhan was accidentally pushed onto the tracks.

However, a thorough investigation revealed that Siddheshwar harbored anger towards Farhan for the extortion case, leading to the brutal beating and murder.
