Pune: In a tragic incident at Jamil Steel Building India Pvt. Ltd., located in Ranjangaon industrial area of Pune district, a young worker lost his life after being made to work without any safety equipment or proper training.

The police have registered a case against the company’s production manager, Jaidev Dashrath Mande, and building supervisor, Dnyaneshwar Durgadas Shende, under sections 304A and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

On June 23, around 9 PM, at Jamil Steel Building India Pvt. Ltd., the company's production manager, Jaidev Dashrath Mande (resident of Venkatesh Swapnanagari, Saswad, Purandar Taluka, Pune district), and building department supervisor, Dnyaneshwar Durgaprasad Shende (currently residing in Ranjangaon, Shirur Taluka, Pune district), neglected their duty by allowing workers to work without safety equipment, without providing training on how to use safety gear, and without instructing them on safe work methods.

They also failed to appoint skilled workers and instead had unskilled laborers handle heavy tasks without proper training.

As a result, a heavy object fell on worker Shivbabu Kamlesh Shahu (age 23, originally from Mankapur, Majhkanpur Taluka, Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Dhoksangvi Pachange Vasti, Shirur Taluka, Pune district), injuring him fatally.

Following this incident, a legal complaint was registered against production manager Jaidev Dashrath Mande and building department supervisor Dnyaneshwar Durgadas Shende under section 304A of the IPC.

The case was filed around 9 PM on August 20, according to the police. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Nilkanth Tidke.
