Pune: In a heartwarming display of compassion, a woman in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, refused to be rescued from her flooded home until her 14 dogs and one cat were safe.

Heavy rains had lashed Pune, causing widespread flooding and disrupting the entire city. Homes were submerged, with water levels reaching chest height in some areas. Amidst this chaos, a woman in the Pimpri market area found herself trapped.

As the water level rose, the woman had secured 15 animals (14 dogs and 1 cat) in a room. It appears she is an animal lover. When the RESQ Charitable Trust team arrived to rescue her, she firmly stated that she would not leave until all the animals were rescued.

With the woman adamant, the rescue team had no choice. Displaying great courage, the RESQ Charitable Trust team rescued all the animals one by one from the water.

A video of this is being shared on social media. Neha Panchamia, founder and president of RESQ CT, tweeted the video on X (formerly Twitter). The video shows all 14 dogs and 1 cat being rescued one by one, with the rescue team wading through chest-high water.

Their efforts are being praised. Only after ensuring all the animals were safe did the woman agree to leave.

Meanwhile, heavy rains wreaked havoc in Pune a day earlier, disrupting the entire city. The NDRF team had to be deployed. The rains in Pune have claimed six to seven lives.

While the water has started receding, some areas still have standing water. Many families have suffered losses due to this.
