Pune: A horrifying case of murder has emerged in Pimpri-Chinchwad where a rickshaw driver, Amir Maqbool Khan, was fatally attacked with a screwdriver.
The incident took place on Sunday (October 6) evening around 8 p.m. in Chinchwad. Local police have launched a manhunt for the unidentified assailant, with CCTV footage revealing the chilling details of the attack.
According to the police report, Amir Khan, a young rickshaw driver, became involved in an altercation with an unknown individual on Sunday night.
The argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which a bystander attempted to intervene but failed to de-escalate the situation. During the scuffle, the attacker drew a screwdriver from his pocket and stabbed Khan directly in the heart.
Khan, though initially resisting, collapsed to the ground within moments due to the grievous injury. He succumbed to his injuries instantly, dying on the spot.
The Chinchwad police, upon arriving at the crime scene, collected CCTV evidence and are actively searching for the attacker. However, the motive behind the murder remains a mystery as investigations continue.
Ongoing Vandalism in Pimpri-Chinchwad
In a separate but concerning event, eight to ten vehicles were vandalized in the Kasarwadi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad by unknown individuals. This follows a similar incident just days earlier, where 28 to 30 vehicles were damaged in Sangvi, Chinchwad, and Nigdi.
