Pune: A severe road rage incident occurred on the Tulapur-Alandi Road late Tuesday (August 27) night, where three individuals allegedly attempted to murder four others after being told they were causing a traffic jam. The incident took place around 11:15 PM in front of the Armacell Company.

The victims, Jagdish Suresh Shivekar (30), Suhas Haridas Shinde, Sonam Kavita Andhare (26), and Ashwini Dattu Pawase (20), were seriously injured, with Jagdish suffering severe injuries to his head, mouth, chest, and abdomen.

The accused, identified as Gaurav Deepak Lagad (22), Avinash Bankad Shelke, and Surekha Anant Savane, have been booked for attempted murder by the Lonikand Police.

According to reports, the incident began when Jagdish Shivekar asked the accused to move their car as it was causing a traffic jam. Angered by this, the accused allegedly got out of their vehicle and assaulted Jagdish, Sonam, and Ashwini, hurling abuses at them.

Matters escalated when Gaurav reportedly declared that he would not rest until he killed them, after which he drove his car at high speed into the group, causing serious injuries to three of the victims.

Surekha allegedly urged Gaurav not to let them go, further inciting the attack. In the process, the car also damaged a parked Swift car and a motorcycle. Assistant Police Inspector Ghorpade is currently investigating the case.

Recently, a digital content creator, Jerlyn D'Silva, was brutally assaulted after being chased for two kilometers on Baner-Pashan road.

The assault, which resulted in significant bleeding from her nose, was documented in a video she shared on social media. Jerlyn D'Silva, who has over 70,000 followers on Instagram, was riding her bike with two young children when a car driver attempted to overtake her.
