Pune: A mobile phone, Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, belonging to a Bhutanese military officer was reported stolen from the CME Dapodi campus. The theft occurred in the foreign officer's room, where the officer, Lieutenant Tashi Dorji Wangchuk, was staying for a course.
According to the complaint filed at the Bhosari police station, an unknown individual stole the Apple iphone, valued at sixty thousand rupees, and earphones worth eight thousand rupees from Wangchuk’s accommodation. The theft was carried out through an open door on the night of August 15.
Bhosari police have registered a case against the unknown suspect under section 305(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The section 305(A) of BNS deals with theft in any building, tent or vessel used as a human dwelling or used for the custody of property; and this offence is punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine. The case was registered on Friday (August 16) at 00:40 hours.
Bhosari police stated that Wangchuk, a resident of Bumthang district in Bhutan, had arrived in CME Dapodi, Pune for a military course. He was staying in Block No. G158/1, Foreign Officers Room inside the CME Dapodi Campus.
Wangchung had left his room door half open when the theft occured. A white color mobile handset, Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max valued at ₹60000 and air pods worth ₹8000 were stolen from the room. Police Sub-Inspector Mohare is investigating the case.
