Pune: The highly anticipated departure of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession for Ashadhi Wari is set for this Friday, June 28. Organizers have left no stone unturned in their preparations, ensuring that the pilgrimage from Dehu to Pandharpur will be a well-supported event.

Vishal Maharaj More, the head of the procession, detailed the preparations, noting that the silver chariot and Abdakiri have been meticulously polished.

With 363 dindis registered, the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sansthan has coordinated with multiple departments to ensure clean drinking water, healthcare services, and protection from rain for the pilgrims. Letters have been sent to water, health, electricity, and road departments to secure necessary amenities along the route.

This year's Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession promises to be a well-organized and spiritually fulfilling journey, with comprehensive support and facilities for all devotees.

In addition to logistical preparations, a special velvet umbrella has been crafted in Chennai for the 339th Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession. The umbrella, featuring intricate hand-embroidered designs, has been donated by Rajesh Bhujbal and his team from Pune. It is designed to provide shade for the palkhi, with sturdy natural bamboo ribs and a tall iron handle.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, ten water tankers, 24-hour tap water supply, and CCTV cameras have been arranged. Continuous power supply will be maintained from Dehu Road and Talawade. On the day of departure, dindis will enter through the Mahadwar gate and exit via the Taponidhi Narayan Maharaj entrance.

Dr. Kishor Yadav, Chief Medical Officer at the Primary Health Center in Dehugaon, confirmed that sufficient medical supplies are on hand.

There will be five medical centers with both inpatient and outpatient services, and ten ambulances will be available. Each dindi will receive a first aid kit to address any immediate medical needs.
