Senior Citizen Killed in Road Accident on Paud Road

65-year-old pedestrian, Balasaheb Laxman Tanpure, was fatally struck by a speeding motorcycle.

Pune: In a series of tragic road accidents across Pune, three individuals, including a senior citizen, lost their lives in separate incidents on Paud Road, Balewadi, and Nagar Road.

The first incident occurred on Paud Road, where a senior pedestrian, Balasaheb Laxman Tanpure (65), was fatally struck by a speeding motorcycle.

The accident happened near Sushrut Hospital when Tanpure was crossing the road. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

A case has been registered at the Kothrud Police Station based on a complaint filed by Amit Tanpure (39). Assistant Police Inspector R.R. Adagle is currently handling the investigation.

In Balewadi, a pedestrian estimated to be between the ages of 35 and 40, was killed after being hit by a speeding dumper truck. The accident took place around noon on Thursday when the victim was crossing the road.

The identity of the deceased remains unknown, and the driver of the dumper fled the scene. Chatuhshrungi Police Station has registered a case against the absconding driver, with Police Constable Sachin Birangle filing the report. Assistant Police Inspector Dadaraje Pawar is investigating the incident.

The third fatal accident occurred on Nagar Road near Pimpri Sandas village, where 53-year-old pedestrian Ganesh Maruti Waikar was struck by a speeding vehicle.

Waikar was walking in the Jamdar Vasti area when the incident occurred. The driver, who fled under the cover of darkness, has not yet been identified. A complaint has been lodged at Lonikand Police Station, and Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Ghorpade is leading the investigation.
