Pune: A senior woman who was visiting her daughter in the United States returned to find her 25-guntha plot and bungalow illegally occupied by a gang.

The group scaled the boundary wall, broke the lock, and took possession of the property. Upon her return, the woman was threatened with violence and driven away by the intruders.

A complaint has been filed at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, naming Dahalat Gaikwad, Amar Pawar, Ramesh Pawar, Rakesh Bhan, and Manoj Kamble as the accused. The 69-year-old complainant, who resides behind Narayan Dham Temple, detailed the ordeal in her report.

The woman's husband passed away in 2005. The couple had purchased the 25-guntha plot in 1993 and built the bungalow in 2004. Due to work commitments, the family was based in Dubai at that time, and Vilas Sasane was appointed to look after the property. Since her husband's death, she has been visiting Pune intermittently from the US.

On June 12, while she was in the US, Vilas Sasane informed her that a group of eight to nine people had jumped the wall and broken into the bungalow. She returned to Pune on June 26 with all the property documents.

Upon entering the bungalow, she was threatened and forced out by the intruders. Further investigation revealed that a fraudulent power of attorney and a false sale deed had been created to claim ownership of the property. Assistant Police Inspector Mithun Pardeshi is leading the investigation into the case.

Recently another case of land grabbing in Koregaon Park had come to light. An attempt to forcibly and illegally seize land, resulting in an assault on the landowner, had occurred at plot number 405, Lane No. 7, Koregaon Park, on July 3.

Koregaon Park police have registered a case against eight individuals, including two women, in connection with the incident.
