Pune police have arrested seven members of the notorious Enjoy Group in connection with an attempted murder case involving a habitual criminal and his accomplice. The accused were caught with seven pistols and 23 live cartridges, potentially averting further major crimes in the city.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shubham alias Matter Anil Jagtap (27), Sumit Uttereshwar Jadhav (26), Amit Mhaske Avchare (27), Omkar alias Bhaiyya Ashok Jadhav (24), Ajay alias Sagar Balkrishna Hegde (27), Raj Basavaraj Swami (26), and Latikesh Gautam Pol (22).

All are members of the infamous Enjoy Group, known for its involvement in criminal activities across various parts of Pune.

The incident that led to the arrests occurred when the complainant and a witness, both habitual criminals, were returning from a Dahi Handi event in the Kolwadi area.

They were ambushed by rival Sumit Uttereshwar Jadhav and his associates in a premeditated attack fueled by old enmity. The attackers intended to kill their rivals during the assault.

During the investigation, it was uncovered that the attack was orchestrated by members of the Enjoy Group from Hadapsar, Swargate, and Lohiyanagar.

Acting on intelligence, Senior Inspector Pandit Rejitwad's team conducted a covert operation in the Mundhwa area, where they successfully apprehended Shubham Jagtap and Sumit Jadhav.

Upon interrogation, further details emerged, leading the police to lay a trap near Navale Bridge and capture five more group members.

In the raid, the Lonikand police seized two country-made pistols and nine live cartridges from the possession of Amit Avchare and Sagar Hegde. During their five-day custody, the police recovered four more pistols and 12 live cartridges from the suspects, bringing the total to seven pistols and 23 cartridges.

In addition to the weapons, two vehicles and seven mobile phones, valued at ₹9.14 lakh, were confiscated. The swift action by the police effectively halted the group's criminal plans, preventing further violence.

The entire operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner Himmat Jadhav, and Assistant Commissioner Pranjali Sonawane, along with Senior Inspector Pandit Rejitwad and his dedicated team, including Assistant Inspector Ravindra Godse and other officers.
