Sharad Pawar Takes Aim at MLA Sunil Tingre Over Kalyani Nagar Incident

Pune: At a recent rally in Pune, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Sharad Pawar targeted Sunil Tingre, an MLA from the Ajit Pawar camp, in a stinging critique.

Tingre, who aligned with Ajit Pawar after the split in NCP, was referred to by Sharad Pawar as a "weak MLA" during his speech.

Pawar made these statements during a rally in Wadgaon Sheri assembly constituency where he also addressed several pressing issues, including women’s safety and upcoming elections.

This comment has sparked a response from Tingre, who acknowledged Pawar’s stature while maintaining his respect for the veteran politician.

In a humble response, Tingre said, "Sharad Pawar Saheb is our guiding force and our idol. He has every right to speak about me. I am not important enough to speak against him. Saheb will always hold my respect, and he has the authority to reprimand me. I am not in a position to answer his remarks, and I will not counter them."

Sharad Pawar’s remarks came in reference to a serious incident in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, where two individuals lost their lives in a scooter accident.

Allegedly, Tingre was present to help the accused, which Pawar harshly criticized during his speech. He said, "An MLA who was elected under the NCP’s banner but left the party calls himself a strong leader. But when two people died in a scooter accident, this so-called strong MLA was helping the accused. What kind of strength is this?"

Shifting his focus to broader social concerns, Pawar urged the public to hold the current government accountable, especially on issues concerning women’s safety.

Referring to an incident in Badlapur, he emphasized the government's responsibility, stating, "Ensuring the safety of our daughters and women should be the top priority.

The government cannot evade its duty in protecting our mothers and sisters. We will make sure they face consequences in the upcoming elections."
