Pune: On Tuesday (July 16) afternoon, NCP President and senior leader Sharad Pawar paid a surprise visit to a private hospital near Kamala Nehru Park, where he went to meet close relatives. During his visit, he discovered that an old party leader, Adv. N.T. Nikam, was also admitted there.

Upon learning this, Pawar immediately turned his steps towards Nikam's room. The senior leader’s eyes filled with tears of joy upon seeing Pawar. Pawar conveyed his wishes for a speedy recovery and had a heartfelt conversation with him.

Sharad Pawar is renowned for his personal connections with grassroots workers, knowing them by name and making time to meet them regardless of the occasion.

This dedication was evident on Tuesday when a leader in a Pune hospital experienced Pawar’s unexpected visit. Pawar arrived at the hospital around 11:45 AM to visit his close relatives but made sure to meet Adv. N.T. Nikam as well.

During his visit, Pawar inquired about Adv. Nilesh Nikam and learned that his father, former Deputy Mayor Adv. N.T. Nikam, was being treated there. Pawar went directly to Nikam's room, checked on his health, and advised him to take care.

The sight of Pawar moved Nikam to tears. This brief but unexpected visit gave Nikam strength and highlighted the deep bond between Pawar and his party members.

Adv. N.T. Nikam has known Pawar since 1978. Pawar had given Nikam the opportunity to contest the municipal elections in 1979 and supported him in becoming Deputy Mayor in 1987, memories fondly recalled by Adv. Nilesh Nikam.
