Shirur Police Arrest Two on Charges of Illegally Selling Country Liquor

A case has been registered against Chhabu Sambhaji Pawar and Congress Sambhaji Pawar.

Nhavare: The Crime Branch team of Shirur police station raided two persons for manufacturing and selling illegal non-licensed hand-made liquor at Pawarvasti in Nhavare (Shirur) area and found valuables worth Rs 56,259, including chemicals for making hand-made liquor.

According to Shirur police, a case has been registered against Chhabu Sambhaji Pawar and Congress Sambhaji Pawar (both residents of Nhavare) in the incident.

Inspector Sandesh Kenjale took the action after police Vijay Shinde received a tip-off that an illegal hand kiln was being built at Pawar Basti in Nhavare area.

In this operation, 2,400 litres of illegal non-licensed hand kilns, chemicals for making liquor and goods worth Rs 56,250 were recovered.

Police inspectors Hanumantrao Giri, Sagar Shelke, Shubham Chavan, Narayan Jadhav, Nitesh Thorat, Neeraj Pisal, Nikhil Raode, Ashok Chitare, Rajaram Gaikwad, Chitrali Sapkal and Godavari Dhanrate carried out the operation.
